Collection: Christmas Countdown Calendar

I designed my Christmas Countdown Calendars in October 2011. Our children were one and two, and I was really doing what I had with all my other products - making something for them that I couldn't find on the high street. By November 2011 I had taken twelve orders for them, and it really felt like my business was starting to go somewhere - I worked day and night to get them all made and shipped in time to be used that December!

I made huge batches every autumn. From 2016-2018 I didn't advertise them at all - I sold them purely to people who contacted me to ask for them, and was still overrun. By early 2019 I had fallen out of love... I was working so hard I was burning out before we'd even got to December, and not making enough money to justify that. I decided not to make any more, until last year, when an old school friend asked me to make just one last one for her daughter.

Making just one, with the time to do it beautifully, give it the attention it deserved made me realise that possibly there was a way I could make these stunning heirloom pieces again. I’ve spent six weeks making samples; If I‘m going to offer them, they have to be perfect. No compromises on my style, on the materials used, on the time taken to produce them. The pricing has been worked out carefully over the course of weeks; I've timed every individual element three times over to be sure I have it right, and If I'm going to offer them once more, this is what I need to charge.

So, there will be ten. I can do ten beautifully, with the time they need spent on them, with the attention they deserve. They will not be for everyone, and that’s fine – I don’t have the hours to make them for everyone, but for the few that understand the hours that go into them, that they will last you a lifetime and be passed on to your children when they leave home, and for the people who have waited years for me to offer them again, I’m bringing them back for this year to see how we go.

Orders open at 6pm on Sunday 2nd February for 2025 Making Slots. You can pay in full, or pay a deposit to secure your making slot, with two more payments due by 1st May 2025. There are upgrades you can add, but you don't have to do this on launch night. You don’t have to have all the details figured out when you order – we have time to work on that together as we plan your heirloom piece that will form part of your Christmas traditions for years to come. I can’t wait to work with you!
